ViaCat offers „Simple search“ as well as Advanced search options.
Please choose between three research-modes:
- Choose „EUV+CP“ to perform combined search in both holdings of European Uniersity Viadrina and the Collegium Polonicum.

Choose „Online Articles“ for research in the periodicals´ index, offering bibliographical data and
full texts of articles published by the leading scientific publishers.
Access to full texts depends on the individual licensing. Options are free access, when published under
open access regime, when licensed by the University library, when licensed by other public
institutions like „Nationallizenzen“ f.e.
In case access is limited to the bibliographical data you are offered to order per Interlibrary loan service. - Choose „Interlibrary loan index“ to research and order publications from the holding of any of the six German library cooperatives. This service is resticted to registered users of Viadrina´s University library.
In order to compare the results of the three modes just change modes – your research terms will be automatically transferred.
„Simple search“ retrieves any search fields. Advanced search offers precisley designed research strategy along individually defined search fields.
Abbreviations explained:
- ISBN International standard book number
- ISSN International standard series number
- ISMN International Standard Music Number
- RVK Classification( notation) by Regensburg Cooperative Classification
Your hitlist can be further selected by various filters.
Your hitlist is per default arranged per „relevance“. Feel free to chose from the other sorting-criteria found on the upper left.
